Salmon
Fishing in Ketchikan, Alaska
A
25-30 minute narrated bus tour along the Tongass Narrows
followed by 4 hours of salmon fishing in sheltered waters
- what a great way to experience Ketchikan, the Salmon
Capital of the World! Historic Knudson Cove Marina,
the Salmon Capital of Ketchikan, offers you this unique
opportunity.
We relish
the opportunity to show you, your family, and your friends
the breathtaking beauty of Ketchikan from our "local
viewpoint" - on the water, pursuing the King, silver,
pink, and chum salmon runs that abound in the sheltered
waters of Clover Passage. During your 4 hours on a charter
boat carrying only 4 - 6 passengers, enjoy the hospitality
of your experienced, Coast Guard-licensed captain (who,
most likely, is a lifelong resident of Ketchikan) as
well as the delicious snack of smoked salmon he prepares
for you. Glimpses of our local mammals and birds - whales,
seals, sea otter, porpoise, sea lions - may also be
on the agenda; don't be surprised when a majestic bald
eagle swoops down near your boat, fishing for its own
catch of the day and allowing you a stellar photo opportunity.
Mandatory
fishing licenses and king salmon tags are purchased
directly from your captain. While rain gear is provided,
we ask that you please wear deck or rubber-soled shoes
and dress warmly. You may choose to catch and release
all day, or have your catch processed and shipped home
for an additional fee. Nothing beats a day fishing -
except, maybe, the incredible photos and delectable
salmon you share with your family and friends when you
return home.
Don't
miss the adventure!
